Visual Planning in awork

After some minor improvements and updates in awork, today we introduce to you the next big feature: Visual planning in awork. The feature is now available for all premium users. If you are using awork in the free version, you can try the feature without a commitment for 14 days.

Create a visual schedule for your project

With the visual schedule in awork you can display all tasks of a project in a timeline. This allows each team member to easily see when individual tasks need to be completed and how much time has been scheduled for each to-do. 

In addition to the list and board view, we have integrated a third option into awork for exactly this purpose: The Timeline.

Start date and deadlines

Your existing tasks are automatically displayed in the timeline if you have set a start and end date for each task.

All other tasks are displayed in the Unscheduled Tasks column to the right of the Timeline. From there, you can easily drag and drop the to-dos into the overview. You can also create new tasks directly in the Timeline. All you need is a simple click on the timeline.

Tip: You can assign responsibilities directly from the timeline. The status color of the task provides an additional overview. This changes automatically when you adjust the task status.

Identify dependency problems early & meet deadlines

As you might expect from visual planning, you can also now see dependencies in the awork Timeline. If there’s a task waiting upon the completion of another task, you can display this dependency in awork with an arrow. This feature allows you to detect dependency problems before they occur. Even if other changes occur, your project will stay on track!


Especially for larger projects, it makes sense to define the milestones. To create a new milestone on the awork timeline, simply click on a respective day in the timeline. You can then assign a name and a color to the milestone.

Everything at a glance

To help you keep track of everything, we have integrated a small overview into the timeline. This handy overview helps you to keep track of even complex projects.

Unlike many other planning tools, you can display multiple tasks in one line in awork. This gives you an even better overview and prevents your planning from becoming unnecessarily long.

Visual planning in awork is available now. The function is included in every premium plan by default. All users who use awork in the free version can test the timeline feature for 14 days, free of charge and risk-free. After the trial period is over, you can then decide if you want to upgrade to awork Premium.
