Now Live: The Individual Time Evaluation For You and Your Team

Now Live: The Individual Time Evaluation For You and Your Team

September 2020

If your team diligently records working hours on projects and tasks, it’s only logical that you want to assess the hours and create corresponding evaluations. Until now, this was only possible to a limited extent in awork. With the new individual time evaluation, you now have a variety of filter and grouping options to create meaningful time evaluations.

To help make your evaluations as straightforward as possible, we have also even thought of a suitable export function. The individual evaluations can be downloaded as Excel or PDF and attached to your customer invoice, including logo.

Why the new function is so practical

The new time evaluation in awork has numerous filter options. For example, you can filter a new evaluation by period, user, project, task type, day, or even non-billable or billable. Groupings are also possible to change the presentation of the evaluation. So what does this look like?

Case 1: Support team in IT

Imagine you work together with your support team in an IT system house for various customers. In your customer projects, you work with tickets. Each ticket represents a technical problem that needs to be solved for the customer. At the end of the month, your customer wants to know how much working time you have spent on supporting and solving the various problems.

With the new function, you can now create individual evaluations that provide precise information. In addition, you can clearly group all tasks of a project on the evaluation. You can immediately see how much time was spent on each customer project and also how long it took to process each individual ticket or problem.

The listing shows how much working time was spent on each project and the respective subtasks.

Case 2: Your team calculates by activity

Another possibility: You work in an agency that charges by the job. For example, an hour of strategy is more expensive than copywriting, or an hour of work by a senior manager is charged much more than an hour of work by a junior PR manager.

With the new time evaluation in awork, these forms of billing can also be taken into account in time evaluation. In this case, the evaluation would be grouped by projects and summed up in the activities below. Of course, it is also possible to export the evaluation as a PDF and send it directly to the customer as proof.

To evaluate by activity, you start by setting an appropriate filter. In our example, four activities are selected: Freelancer, Intern, Junior Manager, and Senior Manager.

Graphical representation of time evaluation

All evaluations are also automatically displayed graphically. The graph adapts accordingly to your selected grouping. For example, you can display a pie chart of how the working hours of your team are distributed over different projects.

You can change the view with the click of a button. Among other things, you have the option to switch to the previous tile view of our older evaluation.

That’s not all!

So far, so good. But that’s not all our new time evaluation can do! Here are more features you can look forward to:

  • Two levels of grouping are also possible in the evaluations. I.e. you can group your evaluation, e.g., according to all recorded times of a project and then also add according to task type.
  • Within the evaluation, the individual time recording entries can be adjusted separately.
  • In addition, a group selection is possible to delete several entries at once or to set the selection to billable.
  • Your time evaluations can be shared with team members. The evaluations can then be viewed by your team members but not edited.
  • You can decide yourself if your time evaluation should be rounded up or not.
  • All evaluations can be exported as an Excel file or printed as PDF.

When exporting to Excel, you have two options, depending on whether you want to include your grouping in the export.

Start now with the new time evaluation in awork!

With the new function, we say goodbye to the old-timer evaluation in awork. Furthermore, the new evaluations are only available in the Premium plan.

To make the transition as easy as possible, we are giving all teams this premium feature for 14 days! After that, you can still view recorded times in the free version in the project or under My Times, but you can no longer create evaluations unless you switch to awork Premium. As always, our 30-day money-back guarantee applies here.

If you have any questions about the new time evaluation or the switch, please contact us!

What’s next?

The topic of time tracking is closely linked to billing. How nice is it that our next update will include direct integration to popular billing tools!? 😉 In all likelihood, this feature will be available before Christmas! You can keep up to date with all upcoming updates via our roadmap.
